Old/new
Or: Finished/started
That’s the old/finished. I might be in love with the self striping sock yarn from Must Stash. I obeyed the instructions and stashed a few more colors of this yarn. This one is Intergalactic. The yarn is a 75/25% merino nylon blend, 460 yards/100grams.
The pattern is the one that lives in my head and gets tweaked from time to time. I love that the stripes match, though that’s not a deal breaker for me for socks. I knit these on size 2 mm double pointed needles, my go-to for socks. These took about three weeks to finish. Zoom classes and Mariners baseball are terrific for getting some sock knitting done.
As you can see, these are already generously augmented with corgi and cat hair. Welcome to my world.
Here’s the new:
Ahh. Every girl needs a pair of plain red socks. This is Exmoor sock yarn from John Arbon. The red is Peggles, the grey is Mizzle. I do love their yarn. I want a pair of socks in every color of this*. The yarn is a bit more rustic feeling than the Must Stash, which is quite soft and silky. The Exmoor yarn wears like iron though, and the colors just glow.
I haven’t reported on John’s myeloma journey recently. Things are going well. He’s still getting weekly treatments, but is tolerating them well. He hasn’t had to have a transfusion since January, and has been off oxygen since March. Since his blood counts have gone up, he has more energy and is able to do more things on his own. So we consider ourselves fortunate.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend. I’ve been getting some yard cleanup done, and the plan for Saturday is to plant flowers and get the herb pots in. We have family help to do that, so it won’t be a chore. The sun might shine, which will be a bonus.
Cheers!
*I might actually have the yarn in the stash for that to be an achievable goal.

Glad to hear that John is feeling better.👍
I love both the new and prospective socks as well as the pet hair, and I’m glad to hear John is doing well. I hope your weekend is lovely.
